Heading to a festival this weekend or even this summer? Get ready for music, partying and camping out but have you packed all the essentials? Whether you are getting chic in the woods or rocking hard in the big city there are a few essentials you will need to have with you. This summer music festival must haves list will have you ready for rain or shine leaving you able to enjoy yourself.
First off, let’s address the hair. Whether you are male or female, more than likely you will be glistening with sweat or bed hair in no time, your hair is bound to get a little dirty. You definitely need to be packing some dry shampoo and a hat, hair tie or headband! That is just a given.
Remember, there’s usually no shade! Remember your sunglasses and your eyes will thank you for it. These can be as trendy as you like, just make sure to bring them.
Sun burn or sun damage is not what you need! Whether you are surfing in Bundoran at Sea Sessions or topping up your tan in Spain at FIB Benicàssim. You will be outside all day and if you bought tickets for more than one day that is even more sun exposure. You need to bring along a good sunscreen with an SPF of 50 atleast. You do need to reapply especially in Spain a few times throughout the day so please protect yourself and bring it with you.
Lip balm with SPF is also useful as there is nothing worse than dry cracked lips.
In terms of outfits and accessories, the easier they are the better. Prepare your outfits so that you know exactly what you are wearing, this way you can get ready with ease. A Bohemian look never fails, so male or female a simple wrap bracelet or multiple bracelets along with your festival band will add a lot of personality to your look. Wear multi-coloured ones so they can remain in place through several outfit changes! A shoulder bag is a must have, as it won’t weigh you down and there are some pretty stylish ones out there.
Very important, one must be practical, comfortable, suit the weather and be stylish all at once. They should not be too good as depending on the festival they will get covered in muck or sand. You will be doing lots of walking, standing and dancing so blister bandages are good to have just in case. You need to make sure that you are wearing some seriously comfortable shoes. Wellies for the rain if you are heading to a festival in Ireland especially. Boots often works just as well, make sure they are not too heavy. Comfortable sandals for beach and sunny festivals. Converse or similar trainers are perfect for dry not too hot weather such as Sziget festival.
Food can be expensive at festivals especially when you have already kitted yourself out in a stylish outfit, bought your tickets, your camping essentials such as tent, sleeping bag and not to mention getting to and from the festival. Cereal bars are really handy especially for a morning snack, crisps are also handy for a midday snacks. Why not pack some sandwiches for the first day, we recommend only for the first day as they might not taste too great after they get squashed in your rucksack. Bottled water, juice drinks and energizer drinks are essential to keep you hydrated and full of energy.
For just about every festival, a folding portable chair is an absolute must! Never go to a festival without one! There are so many out there to choose from, get one that has a drink holder in it, cause even if you are not holding a drink it is handy for your phone.
A picnic blanket will always come in handy when you want to sit in the grass without getting your clothes dirty.
A tent with a porch is best, this way you can store anything you don’t want to rest your head beside there and it is good if you need to shelter belongings from the rain.
Hand sanatizer, toilet roll, pocket tissues, baby wipes and body spray! These things are ESSENTIAL to keep you feeling fresh. A little first aid kit with some bandages and over the counter medication are important to have, just in case.
